Too often, there’s a belief that “financial planning isn’t for me.” A belief that financial advisors focus exclusively on ultra-high-net-worth households while working families and growing businesses are overlooked. Or there’s hesitation to seek guidance because advisors feel sales-driven and disconnected from real-world challenges. As a result of assuming financial advice isn’t accessible or designed with your personal needs in mind, financial planning gets delayed.
When financial planning is delayed, people often find themselves reacting to life events instead of preparing for them. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certificant, I am held to a fiduciary standard and focus on helping clients pursue their financial goals. I serve individuals, families, and small businesses that may not always be the primary focus of larger advisory firms. My approach provides financial guidance across a range of areas, including saving, debt management, tax-efficient planning, and evaluating opportunities as they arise.
Steve Melchiorre, CFP®, CPFA®, is a Financial Planner serving individuals, families, and small businesses. He believes quality financial guidance should be accessible to more people, not just the wealthy. Steve strives to foster strong client relationships through education, communication, and personalized service. His primary areas of focus include retirement planning and investment management.
Steve’s path to financial planning was non-traditional. The experience of walking that winding path shaped how he views his role and serves his clients. His career path has allowed him to develop the ability to listen deeply to people’s true concerns, while helping them navigate toward practical, thoughtful approaches. Steve began his career as a juvenile probation officer in Philadelphia, which gave him an insight into how everyone lives across different environments and social classes, reinforcing that we’re not all so different. Later, he worked as a carpenter for UPS, where he gained an appreciation for skilled labor and a clearer understanding of what work/life balance truly meant. Steve later transitioned to working as a life insurance agent with New York Life, ultimately pushing him towards a career in financial services.
His experiences have given him a deep appreciation for the challenges faced by people from all walks of life, and he strives to make financial planning more accessible. He provides intentional, individualized financial guidance designed to help clients pursue their long-term goals. In recognition of his dedication to transparency and personalized advising, he was a 2025 Five Star Wealth Manager recipient.
Steve is deeply involved in the community through professional and philanthropic leadership. He is the Co-Chair of the Young Executives Committee at the Philadelphia Pyramid Club, where he facilitates networking events, professional development, and educational programming. As a member of the Rising Leaders through ProjectHOME, he brings awareness to social issues and organizes actionable fundraisers. In his free time, he enjoys swimming and martial arts.
